Welcome to Yellow Chair Therapy
My name is Clare and I am a qualified MBACP psychotherapist and counsellor. With a background in education and additional ADHD training, I provide compassionate therapy, using my experience to guide you through life's difficulties.

A Bit About Me
As a non-ADHD partner and parent in a neuro-divergent family, I also bring lived experience to help clients manage their own unique journeys through ADHD diagnosis and beyond.
I know that starting therapy can feel daunting and you may worry about whether it is the 'right' thing to do. To help you feel more comfortable, I offer a no-obligation free 15 minute 'Discovery' call - online or over the phone if you'd prefer - where you can tell me a bit about yourself, ask questions about the process, and decide how you want us to work together. You can then choose to book further sessions if you wish to continue.
I work from my home in North Leeds, in a calm, welcoming therapy room. There is ample on street parking and nearby public transport links.
I also offer sessions online, using Microsoft Teams.
Sessions are 50 minutes long, will usually take place weekly, and can be booked in blocks of 6 sessions or with an open-ended time frame. Before starting our work together, I will send you a contract for you to review and sign, and this agreement will be reviewed regularly throughout our time together.
When contacting me through email or by phone, I will be in touch within 48 hours, Monday to Friday.
I endeavour to make all my clients feel welcome, supported and safe, and work within the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) Ethical Framework.
Meet Your Therapist
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked for many years as a senior leader in primary schools, where my interest in empathy, nurture, support and neurodivergence grew.
I decided to further develop this element of my work, completing a PGCert in Counselling Skills and then a Masters in Integrative Counselling. It is such a rewarding experience to help people figure out their problems, find ways of feeling better or work through past traumas, enabling them to lead happier or more meaningful lives.
